3 min read

Editorial

  • Headline is clear, accurate, and under 80 characters
  • Lede summarises the story without sensationalism
  • Body is fact-checked and sources are linked or attributed
  • Quotes are accurate, with speaker name + role
  • Numbers and dates are double-checked

SEO

  • Meta description (1–2 sentences) is set
  • URL slug is human-readable (e.g. mayor-budget-2026, not story-123)
  • Focus keyword appears in headline + first paragraph
  • Article has at least one internal link to a related Journalify story
  • Open Graph image is set (1200×630 px recommended)

Accessibility

  • Every image has alt text describing the content (not "image.jpg")
  • Heading hierarchy is logical (H2 → H3, never skip levels)
  • Links have descriptive text ("read the report", not "click here")
  • Embedded videos have captions or transcripts

Distribution

  • Social media preview looks correct (check the Preview tab)
  • Newsletter inclusion: yes / no / featured
  • RSS category set
  • Push notification: send / hold / breaking-news priority

Pro tip: Settings → Editorial → Publishing checklist lets you customise this list per organisation. Editors can mark items as required to enforce them at submit-for-review time.
